Adaptation Part B: Frontline Development 06/05/2017

So once again, cracking on a getting as much as I can. It took me a while to get the sunset highlands feel I was going for. So I've also figured out how to use the scanners for drawings and such, without losing image quality or having to use loads of layers. So a lot of my drawing buildup work won't go to waste after all.  I've finally also managed to create the storyboard layouts for the whole production. So I've got a lot of frames to do in a short amount of time, but what I want to achieve is doable.

Adaptation Part B: Development, Effects and Drawings 09/03/2017

Rough Knight Environment Concept The effect should just be popped into the animation when it is all done, and this is just a small taste of what to expect. Turns out the pixel physics isn't as complicated as I originally thought.

Adaptation Part B: Animation Test and Colour Test 24/02/2017

Right now I've got a pretty good idea of what I want this animation to look like, now its just a case of doing lots of color tests, seeing what does work, and what doesn't. Just wanted to show some small progress.

Summer Post: Ship Perspective Experiment 15/08/2016

Final Ship Output  Drawing Build-up Okay, so I have 'somewhat' of an addiction to drawing spaceships and Dodos as of late, a while back I saw someone used perspective lines to make the drawing appear more alive so I figured I would give it a shot and the final result was this. I personally though this COULD have been better, but for a first attempt, it wasn't too bad. Some of the lines still look a little too chunky, I will try another one of these at some point but will want to spend more time on it. This was just a quick doodle that took just over two hours to do so hopefully I can have another crack at this. Still, it is nice to have the creative gears rolling once again.

Summer Post: Ship Colour Maniac 06/08/2016

No Overlay Shading Overlay Shading GIF Build-Up This was just a mini project I decided to do, I do struggle with colours sometimes so trying out something new a challenging for me was a nice change from my black and white ships. There are a couple techniques I have learnt from this but the main thing to take away from this is that if I need to create rough thumbnails really quickly then this is a very easy method which can provide reasonably good quality result with not much effort or time, allowing me to have more time to focus on other projects. I particularly have a fondness of ship '3' for some reason, I can't tell why but out of the whole 27 ideas '3' just seems to stand out.
