Summer Work: The Daily Update!

I just need to do one more cleanup and this thing is finished. So far liking how it's looking!

Summer Work: The Daily Update!

Just some more progress. Need to now animate the squirrel and fix some issues with the guy but I'm pretty happy with this so far.

Summer Time: Daily Update!

Animation Progress I need to do some smoothing out with the animation, as well as fix some camera issues, but apart from that, it should be pretty good.

Maya Tutorial: Physical Sun & Sky 27/04/2017

The Physical Sun & Sky is built around Mental Ray, so overall learning about how to create rough lighting for scenes, over even a final lighting set-up for a scene, this render can be really handy. How to get the Physical Sun & Sky It worth noting that this function is directly linked to Mental Ray, if Mental Ray is not active, then you cannot use Physical Sun & Sky. Red & Blue Shift (Blue) Red & Blue Shift (Red) Desaturated Sky Hard Shadows Soft Shadows  There a number of options in the physical sun and sky menu, being able to adjust the softness and qualities of the shadows is rather simple, just push and pull values until you get something you like. If you want a soft shadow however render times may dramatically increase. Sun & Sky Pointing at Camera Final Image Mixdown The final image was done by saving my renders out as TIF's, then separating them in Photoshop, altering each one, then ...

Adaptation Part B: Visual References and Inspirations 09/03/2017

Samsung Music Hub "Sizzle" from Seagulls Fly on Vimeo . The idea that the whole scene blends seamlessly is very interesting. Giving the illusion that the whole animation would be one sequence rather than separate would be quite crucial. HORIZON - from MickaĆ«l Forrett (MEO) on Vimeo . Horizon is an amazing example of how projection mapping can give an impression of depth and scale. This should be used in the final animation, but this a cool use of this technique nonetheless. HORS CHAMP from GOBELINS pro on Vimeo . Hors Champ uses colour and screen effects very effectively to give a sense of realism and believability, despite the art style of the animation. COIL from GOBELINS pro on Vimeo . The animation in Coil is very well done, some scenes use a large amount of animation, whilst some areas only need a small amount, but it's enough to emphasise an emotion.

Maya Tutorials: Pre-Vis 14/01/2016

In this video are all of the Maya tutorials that we have been asked to do for "Pre-Visualization". Using the tools provided I now have a number of skills prior to before, the most significant one being the graph editor. Its a little complex but if you know how it works then it is your best friend. I used to use 'S' to key frame all of my animations and then be very confused by many, many, many line on my screen. Now that I can key frame just one trait this should make life a whole load easier.   I just want to take a second to thank Alan for putting these tutorials together, I have used Maya for three years as well as video editing software so I would not want to know how long these tutorials take to make or the immense amount of effort required to make them.   So yeah, Thanks Alan!
