Adaptation Part A: Final Submission 10/02/2017

Art Of Masturbating  by Thomas Mayfield on Scribd Just to summarize on this project, despite the fact it was only four weeks I can say it's been a nice little project, the topic I chose was a joke that backfired on me, but that joke has actually been quite fun to work with. All of the designs translated really well into AE and I can confidently say I would have no problems with this kind of this again. There were a couple technical hiccups here and there, and maybe a couple bugs that need to be ironed out but overall thius project was a joy to work with. Now that this is done, its time to hit Adaptation B head on and make something special.

Adaptation Part A: Infographic Assets 1 01/02/2017

All of these have been set up in photoshop and after effects ready for animation, there are still more to come, however some of the typography work is back on my home PC rather than the university PC. Blue Arrow Red Arrow  The arrows are pretty self explanatory, arrows to help the viewer focus their attention on key areas. Mayonaise Bottle Hot Dog Tree Cucumber Moon Flag  The props will be placed in the appropriate places when needed, obviously along with the typography these assets should be only used when needed. Bedroom Daytime Bedroom Nighttime Underwater Moon Sun As stated these environments have been set up ready for animation stages, so hopefully when it comes to it animating this thing should be no problem.

Adaptation Part A: Script and Infographic Details 31/01/2017

What is The Best Time of Day to Masturbate? Main Messages: It’s okay to Masturbate. What is Masturbation? What are the rules with Masturbation? Teach Masturbation Terminology. Target Audience 12+ Run Time 2:00/3:20 Minutes Topic Elaboration Talking about a topic as delicate as this is quite awkward for a lot of people, especially younger audiences. There are other forms of media which can teach these topics, but creating an experience from an awkward topic that people will benefit from is key in the production of this infographic. The idea of this video is to inform and teach, not influence and stereotype, obviously, stereotypes will be used as a form of explanation in the film but not will rely too heavily on them. Script Points, In Order 1. What is the best time of day to masturbate introductory sequence? 2. What is masturbation, section for boy and girl? 3. Rules with masturbation, and general health. 4. Where time doesn’t apply to where you ...

Adaptation Part A: Text Tests and After Effects 25/01/2017

I'm still trying to work out the theme for the whole animation, however, I have found the correct fonts for the animation, so here are a couple tests I made. Also, I've been trying to get back into the swing of AE ready for production, so here is what I've come up with so far. After spending the day rejogging my brain on how animation in AE works, coming up with a few more of these should be no problem.

Adaptation Part A: What is the best time of day to... Masturbate? 23/01/2017

Yes, this is a thing, and yes this is now happening. I'm going to be doing, a lot of design test in regards to the shapes of people in this project so expect lots of posts in the coming days. This should also allow me to hone my After Effects skills, I know a lot about AE already but have never animated a character using solely AE so this should be an interesting idea.

Adaptation Part A Info-graphic: Follow-up feedback and Further Development 16/01/2017

Okay, so after receiving feedback on my initial pitch for Adaptation Part A I've done some homework and come to a few conclusions. The main idea behind most of my points is that they had context, but looking back on thew choices I have made they may have been a be extreme. However, after a little research, I can see that some of these may be able to play to my advantage. So these ideas are broken down, given context and meaning, hopefully, this should help me come up with further ideas. 1. When is the best time of day to rob a bank? This was the initial idea just because I could have had a lot to play with this on in terms of design, there would be a lot to take into consideration when robbing a bank, and the time of day in which the bank was robbed could have different consequences. For example, if it was done in the day things like hostages, traffic and accessibility would be things that need to be taken into consideration. Whereas if a bank was ro...

Adaptation Part A: Initial Ideas 12/01/2017

The options I have chosen for this are very specific, some have been put there for initial idea brainstorming whilst other have been put there with the intention of potential development. For example options, 2, 3, 5, 6 and 8 have been put there because of their sheer simplicity. These would be much more informative just because of the chosen subject but obviously designing around those aspects would give me much more to work with. Whereas some of the more grotesque options like 1, 4, 7, 9 and 10 have been put there with the idea of the comedic value of the content. Using certain humor to elaborate upon these points may not be as informative as the other points the idea of the subject would help with remembering the concept, just because of 'Shock Value'.
