Adaptation Part B: Idea Dump 03/02/2017

Idea 1: Animation Idea

Take the idea of some of the greek gods and throw them into the real world so Either Hermes could be an office worker, and Hades is his boss. Hermes would do his job constantly and mess up somewhere along the way, being out sped by fat workers on Segways. The animation would end with Hades Clicking his fingers and Hermes bursts into flames.

Idea 2:

I would probably try some character creation along with rig & animation reel, this would help improve my character development skills as well as general knowledge of character design.
Here are a couple ideas.

The God of Cafes

The God of Dog Walking

The God of Reading

The God of Monopoly

The God of Risk

Idea 3:

The Third Idea is having Wilfred Owens most recognizable poem Dulce Decorum Est, having a visual adaptation of WWI, using strong stills that transition to animation to show the next sequence this would be probably my favorite idea.

Bent double, like old beggars under sacks,
Knock-kneed, coughing like hags, we cursed through sludge,
Till on the haunting flares(2)

we turned our backs
And towards our distant rest(3)

began to trudge.
Men marched asleep. Many had lost their boots
But limped on, blood-shod. All went lame; all blind;
Drunk with fatigue; deaf even to the hoots(4)

Of tired, outstripped(5)

that dropped behind.

Gas! Quick, boys! – An ecstasy of fumbling,
Fitting the clumsy helmets(8)

just in time;
But someone still was yelling out and stumbling,
And floundering like a man in fire or lime(9)

. . .
Dim, through the misty panes(10)

and thick green light,
As under a green sea, I saw him drowning.
In all my dreams, before my helpless sight,
He plunges at me, guttering,(11)

choking, drowning.
If in some smothering dreams you too could pace
Behind the wagon that we flung him in,
And watch the white eyes writhing in his face,
His hanging face, like a devil's sick of sin;
If you could hear, at every jolt, the blood
Come gargling from the froth-corrupted lungs,
Obscene as cancer, bitter as the cud(12)

Of vile, incurable sores on innocent tongues,
My friend, you would not tell with such high zest(13)

To children ardent(14)

for some desperate glory,
The old Lie; Dulce et Decorum est
Pro patria mori.(15)

Idea 4:

Is to have a game of poker, but each player is a god of gambling, One god is the god of clubs, another spades, another hearts and another diamonds. Each shape is associated with the character, so the hearts character would have a romantic feel to him, whereas the spades character would be very lucky. This idea would still need some development.

A weird twist I could add is that the poker game would consist of only dogs, and the dogs would be designed around each shape trait.

Idea 5:

Right, so using the idea of creating a David & Goliath scenario, two robots, the smaller one being a tiny robot, clearly inferior to the bigger robot.

The animation would consist of the big robot blocking the smaller robots path. The smaller robot tries to move the big robot using different props, such as things like a bomb, guns and a very big mousetrap.

This would allow me to improve my skills in modeling, rigging, and character design.

Idea 6:

Okay, so this last idea would be my favorite idea, but realistically I know this wouldn't be the best idea.

This would be the most difficult, and I could see many problems coming into the creation process when creating this but in the game Halo 5, the forge mode allows users to create and customize maps at will, more or less being a complete map creator.

I don't have any screenshot of the full block-out of the map, but I would have been interested in recreating this block layout in Maya and then taking it further, going into detailing and actually recreating this map. There are other which I could do if this idea gets picked.
