Adaptation Part A Info-graphic: Follow-up feedback and Further Development 16/01/2017

Okay, so after receiving feedback on my initial pitch for Adaptation Part A I've done some homework and come to a few conclusions.

The main idea behind most of my points is that they had context, but looking back on thew choices I have made they may have been a be extreme. However, after a little research, I can see that some of these may be able to play to my advantage.

So these ideas are broken down, given context and meaning, hopefully, this should help me come up with further ideas.

1. When is the best time of day to rob a bank?

This was the initial idea just because I could have had a lot to play with this on in terms of design, there would be a lot to take into consideration when robbing a bank, and the time of day in which the bank was robbed could have different consequences. For example, if it was done in the day things like hostages, traffic and accessibility would be things that need to be taken into consideration. Whereas if a bank was robbed at night then things like reduced visibility no traffic and increased security would play vital roles in robbing a bank. Obvoiusly taking into consideration realistic aspects of what would make a bank heist sucessful whilst add some intresdting animation elements would make this idea 'A Nice Watch'

Main message, Don't rob a bank.

2. When is the best time of day to play videogames?

Playing videogames can sometimes be very time consuming depending on the games you play, some required you to dedicated large portions of time to a certain task to get the outcome you desire. So managing your time sometimes with these tasks can be difficult. Depending on your current occupation, status and just general activity, time for video games has to be slotted in. Also, another to keep in mind is about your friends because the chances are you play a game which is online, so meeting up with friends can affect the time you dedicate to gaming. Using this idea would allow the use of popular gaming culture to be incorporated into the infographic.

Main message, Be Organized.

3. When is the best time of day to drive?

Driving depending on who you are can make driving a very different experience. Things to be taken into consideration are what vehicle is driven and the terrain drove. For example, if you are a university student you may need to leave early in the morning in order to get to your destination because a few minutes can make a huge difference between being early and late. There are certain peak times for driving, so times like 12:00 and 2:00 are not ideal because of things like school runs and everyone trying to get to work on time.

Main message, Be Organized and Aware.

4. When is the best time of day to masturbate?

Okay, so this subject was probably the most 'Risqué' on the list but nonetheless it needs elaborating. So after some extensive thinking on this subject, there are a couple things that could be spoken about, but the bigger picture would be about the target audience. There are two ways I could go with this, the first being an intelligent humour for adults, saying about how people who masturbate in the daytime would be very different to people who do it at night time, also elaborating on awkward situations such as 'Public Masturbation' would be able to be manipulated to create a situation in which some depth could be given.

The other direction that I could go is make the video for minors, so kids the ages of 12-17. Other media outlets do talk about this kind of thing but this is an extremely hard topic to talk about just because of the nature of it. There are a couple videos that do try to break the ice when talking about this kind of thing like Tomska but other than that there are not a lot of easily acceptable videos about this sort of thing.

The main message, Be open about yourself and embrace what you are.

5. When is the best time of day to read a book?

Reading is a form of media which usually be associated with relaxation or the intention of improving one's intellect. So depending on your situation would depend on how much can concentrate on the book, if your on a train to a destination then all you need to worry about is listening out for your stop, whereas reading whilst working you would need to switch on and off very quickly. It could also be a good time to encourage younger people to start reading more, as it reading is a known help for putting people to sleep.

Main message, Reading is Cool!

6. When is the best time of day to have friends?

The idea of the friendship joke is, 'When is there not a good time to have friends?" Being specific about a time when friends might be better to have around you could have a positive reaction on the audiences. Show situations where having more people would be nicer, for example, a party.

Main message, having Friends is Special.

7. When is the best time of day to commit mass murder?

This idea's conception is probably one of the darker topics, but it would still have that jokey aspect to it, therefore giving it some personality. Things like dumb ways to die are very simplistic but are still able to talk the concept of death, which is already a very dark topic, can still be given a silly context despite the ideas initial intention.

Main message, don't Murder Anyone.

8. When is the best time of day to have a Mcdonalds McMuffin?

Okay, so this idea has a story behind it, in the summer of 2016 I was finishing up doing my 'Taxi Runs', it was 2:00 in the morning and I was really hungry, so there was a McDonalds. Now the McMuffin is sold at breakfast time, so by my logic, I would have assumed any meal past 12:00 is breakfast. I pull up to the drive-thru and ask for a McMuffin, the cashier then unfortunately informs me that they did not serve the McMuffin until 7:30. Displeased with the answer I received I pulled into a local road and waited in anger for 5 and a half hours. I then went into work that day and finished my McMuffin and ate the McMuffin two hours before my shift started in the workplace. Never try to have a Mcdonalds McMuffin at 2:00 in the morning.

This is just a silly little story which could be given some artistic flare and comedic build-up.

Main message, determination will always get you results.

9. When is the best time of day to cry about how much your life sucks?

Crying about how much your life sucks, once again is a dark subject, so giving this idea the same treatment as the other 'Dark' subject would be quite key. Having aspects of what time would be most beneficial to cry there would be certain advantages. Creating silly situations like, crying at night could result with your entire room flooded with tears, as well as, crying in the day could melt your eyes due to the sun evaporating your tears so quickly.

Also, the reason to which your life would be sucking would also be a pivotal mechanic in creating the situations we then end up with. This reason for life sucking could range from the cat got hit by a car, too someone dropped a skyscraper onto my old primary school.

Main message, its okay to cry, and life isn't always terrible.

10. When is the best time of day to punch someone in the face?

Right, so the final one is a reverse of all of the other idea's I've had. So the idea in itself is quite silly, so this time round adding an edgy undertone to the whole animation would be very fitting, like seeing a horrible monster with a rubber chicken.

So things to be taken into consideration is how could this silly situation be made serious, for a start it could be treated like a military operation. So something like "At exactly 07:00, James has to be hit in the face at 31 mph"

Main message, don't punch people in their faces.
